Diabetes, hypertension, thyroid, respiratory and kidney care — comprehensive adult medicine under one roof. Walk-ins welcome, seven days a week.
The annual check-up keeps getting pushed. The pharmacy machine has been reading high for months. The medication that worked for years isn't holding the numbers anymore. The fatigue that came on a few months back hasn't gone away. None of these are emergencies — and that's exactly why they get postponed, then postponed again, until something gets worse.
Amadeo's internal medicine service is the doctor's visit that doesn't get postponed. Walk-ins are welcome, the labs and ECG happen the same day, and the chronic conditions that need ongoing management — diabetes, hypertension, thyroid, kidney function, respiratory disease — are handled here with the cadence each one actually needs. When a question reaches into another specialty, the cardiology, gynaecology, and pediatrics colleagues are a hallway away.

The largest group is chronic disease that needs steady hands — diabetes that's drifting out of range, hypertension that the old medication no longer holds, thyroid numbers that have shifted, asthma that's flaring more often than it used to. The work is rarely dramatic; it's about the right cadence of visits, the right labs at the right interval, and adjustments that keep people out of hospital.
We also see patients with new symptoms — unexplained fatigue, weight changes, persistent cough, ankle swelling, fevers that won't settle. The internal medicine consult is where most of those questions get worked up: targeted history, focused exam, the labs and imaging that narrow the diagnosis quickly. And we see plenty of people who just want a proper annual physical — the kind of check that catches diabetes, kidney disease, or thyroid trouble before the body forces the conversation.
Continuity. Chronic disease management lives or dies by whether your follow-ups happen with someone who actually knows your chart. Amadeo's internal medicine team is built for that — the doctor who diagnoses your diabetes is the same doctor who titrates your medications six months later, reviews your labs the year after, and catches the kidney-function drift before it becomes a crisis.
Everything in one place. The ECG, the labs, the blood pressure log, and the medication review all happen at the same site, on the same visit when the schedule allows. No driving to a separate lab and waiting two weeks for results to come back to a fax machine. Results land in your Amadeo chart.
The wider bench is right here. Chronic disease rarely stays inside one specialty — diabetes overlaps with kidneys and eyes; hypertension reaches into the heart; hypothyroidism affects pregnancy planning. With 15+ specialists under one roof, the cardiology, gynaecology, and pediatrics colleagues your case may need are a hallway away. Over 30,000 families have come through these doors. You and yours will be in great hands.
No. Walk-ins are welcome seven days a week. Bring any prior records, recent test results, and a complete medication list (including over-the-counter and supplements) so we can pick up where you left off.
Yes — on-site phlebotomy means most labs (lipid panel, HbA1c, kidney + liver function, thyroid, electrolytes) are drawn at the visit. Results come back in 24–48 hours and land directly in your Amadeo chart.
For stable, well-controlled disease: typically quarterly. For new diagnoses or active dose changes: monthly until things settle. The exact cadence depends on your numbers, your medications, and any other conditions in the picture — we'll set that schedule together at the first visit.
A focused history, a full physical exam, blood pressure, weight and BMI, lipid panel, HbA1c (or fasting glucose), kidney + liver function, thyroid screening, urinalysis, and any age- or sex-appropriate cancer screening referrals. The visit ends with a written summary of where you stand and what to watch.
Cost depends on what's needed — a baseline new-patient visit with labs is the most common starting point. We work with most major Jamaican health insurance providers. Call (876) 676-5098 for a current estimate.
