X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, mammography, and echocardiography — coordinated through our island-wide radiology partners and read by your Amadeo specialist.
Imaging is rarely the destination — it's a question the specialist needs answered. A persistent abdominal pain that needs an ultrasound. A suspected stress fracture that needs an X-ray. A neurological symptom that needs an MRI. A breast change that needs a mammogram. The right question, the right modality, and the right reader matter more than the building the scan happens in.
Amadeo doesn't run an in-house scanner — instead, the team coordinates the right imaging at the right partner facility, sends the request with the specialist's question already framed, and brings the result back into your Amadeo chart for the doctor who ordered it. The patient gets the scan; the specialist gets the answer; nobody chases a fax.

Pre-surgical work-up is the largest category — chest X-ray and ECG before an operation, occasional CT or MRI for complex cases. The imaging is scheduled to fit the surgical timeline; the results land in time for anaesthesia and surgical planning.
Cardiology and internal medicine patients are the next — echocardiography for cardiac function, ultrasound for vascular and abdominal questions, CT and MRI for complex evaluations. The Amadeo specialist frames the clinical question in the request, so the radiology report comes back targeted rather than generic.
We also coordinate routine screening — annual mammography for women in the recommended age range, abdominal ultrasounds when clinically indicated, obstetric ultrasounds in our gynaecology pathway, and bone-density scans for patients on long-term medications that affect bone health.
Right scan, right reader. Different modalities and different clinical questions favour different radiology partners — and your Amadeo specialist knows which combination fits your case. You don't have to figure out where to get your CT, or which lab reads mammograms most carefully; the team chooses for the specific case.
Result routing built in. Scans are ordered with your Amadeo chart already linked. The radiology report comes back to the specialist who ordered it without a separate paper trail. For multistep care (a scan, a follow-up visit, a treatment plan), this is the difference between continuous and broken.
Over 30,000 families have come through these doors. The imaging coordination is part of that continuity — your past scans, your radiology comparisons, your year-over-year trends all sit in the same record. You and yours will be in great hands.
No — diagnostic imaging is coordinated through our partner radiology, nuclear medicine, and MRI network across Jamaica. The advantage is that your Amadeo specialist picks the right facility for the modality and the clinical question, rather than defaulting to whatever is on-site.
Routine scans are typically scheduled within 1–3 working days. Urgent scans (suspected fracture, acute abdominal pain, stroke work-up) are scheduled same-day or next-day. The specialist who orders the scan will tell you the expected timing.
The radiology report goes directly to your Amadeo chart and the specialist who ordered the scan. You'll typically review the result at a follow-up visit with the specialist, who can explain what the findings mean for your care plan.
Yes — bring the CD or USB with the images, plus the written report if you have it. The specialist can review external imaging during your consultation rather than ordering a duplicate scan.
Cost depends on the modality (X-ray is the least expensive; MRI is the most) and on which partner facility performs the scan. Most major Jamaican health insurance providers cover imaging; pre-authorisation may apply for CT and MRI. The specialist orders the scan and we coordinate billing.
